Managing Solar Power Production
Solar power plants are highly effective, but their widespread adoption sometimes leads to overproduction of electricity.
This can result in homes or businesses not being granted permission to send excess generated electricity back to the grid. Even if permission is granted, a surplus of energy may lead to additional costs for offloading it. The key to addressing both challenges is aligning production with demand—a task that is easier said than done. However, Reduxi can manage this for you.
Solar Power Plant Management
Typically, there are limits on how much energy you can feed back into the grid. This limit varies: it can be zero if you lack permission or several hundred kW for larger setups. For a typical household, the limit is around 5kW. Consider a scenario where it’s a sunny weekend, you’re not home, your house uses minimal electricity, and your solar plant produces 15kW. The 10kW difference between production and your grid limit could lead to charges from your electricity provider due to the surplus.
To avoid this, it makes sense to regulate the plant’s production when it exceeds the limit. Reduxi can handle this seamlessly, ensuring you don’t have to worry about overproduction.
Solar Power Plant and Battery Storage
Reduxi not only prevents penalties from overproducing electricity but also maximizes the efficiency of your home battery unit. Once connected to the Reduxi system, your home battery becomes a valuable asset.
Reduxi ensures your solar power plant charges the battery with surplus energy, shutting down only when the battery is fully charged. When electricity prices rise, Reduxi discharges the battery first, minimizing grid usage or generating profit when selling it back to the grid.
With Reduxi, you gain full control over both energy production and storage, leaving only the management of consumption as the final piece of the puzzle.

An electric vehicle is often just one piece of your home’s overall electricity consumption puzzle, and its charging needs can be unpredictable.
While your car must always have enough charge, it doesn’t necessarily need a completely full battery at all times. Reduxi ensures that your car reaches the desired state of charge as quickly as possible, while optimizing the remaining charging to occur at the lowest possible cost. Load management is fundamentally about limits.
With recent technological advancements, we can consume and produce more electricity than most existing systems were originally designed to handle. While upgrading your home to support higher power capacity is an option, it often results in increased monthly network fees. However, this can largely be avoided by optimizing electricity usage—such as not charging your electric car while simultaneously running an induction stove and heat pump at full power. While this approach can prevent circuit breakers from tripping, it is not convenient.

Reduxi communicates with your heat pump unit to adjust its operational levels based on electricity prices. Practically speaking, Reduxi instructs the heat pump to increase activity during periods of low-cost electricity and to decrease activity when prices rise. Despite these adjustments, the heat pump will always prioritize your comfort, optimizing power usage to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness by adhering to the principle: “Only use what is necessary.”
The underlying principle is simple: all parties agree in advance on the amount of electricity to be produced and consumed. There are rewards for meeting these agreed numbers and penalties for deviating from the plan. Reduxi helps manage this balance, ensuring both efficiency and cost savings.
Retrofitting existing photovoltaic systems.
Keeping up with technological advancements, especially in expensive infrastructure like solar panels, EV chargers, and batteries, can be challenging. If you already have a photovoltaic system and wish to integrate an EV charger, compatibility issues often arise.
